Coyle Free Library and its book club welcome Peter Troy as he presents his debut novel May the Road Rise Up To Meet You at Coyle Free Library at Main Street in Chambersburg on May 15, at 6 pm. Troy will be joining the Coyle Free Library Book Club to read an excerpt from his book and to discuss the novel.
May the Road Rise Up to Meet You was published in February 2012 by Doubleday. The novel is a passionate and deeply absorbing American epic told from four distinct perspectives, two immigrants and two slaves, amidst the backdrop of the Irish Famine, the Abolitionist Movement and the Civil War. There are several scenes in the novel pertinent to Chambersburg and the surrounding area.
Peter Troy is a former journalist and high school history teacher. He lives in New York State where he is currently at work on the second book in a trilogy that will span one hundred sixty years of American history when it is completed.
